Varsity Nature Adventures with Ice Cream

This is our most adventurous Nature Adventures option—perfect for campers ready to push themselves and have a TON of fun. Campers will vote on the week’s hike, and they should expect a challenge (don’t worry, it’s an ice cream day). We’ll spend one day white-water rafting in Port Jervis, which may run late into the afternoon—but yes, there will be ice cream. Another day features our classic kayaking and paddleboarding trip on the Croton River (no ice cream this time). We’ll also plan a relaxing beach day at Lake Welch in Harriman State Park, if it’s open; otherwise, we’ll swap in a backup hike (also an ice cream day). While some activities depend on weather, great backup plans are always ready to go.
