Baseball Clinic with Ryan Smith '17
Calling all baseball players!
If you’re new to the game or looking to improve your game, this is the summer program for you. As a proud Hackley lifer, I’m looking to introduce and grow the game of baseball to the students of Hackley and the surrounding communities. This program will offer group sessions for Grades 1-3, group sessions for Grades 4-6 and private lessons for Grades 5-8. Each session will be built upon learning or refining the players’ knowledge and skill of the game.
The younger group sessions will be about learning the rules, fundamentals and values of baseball. The older group sessions will be about improving in-game situations and building a more advanced skill set. This will be taught through drills and fun competitions! The core of these group sessions will be about the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship and sports IQ, which is key to building a strong foundation in baseball and in life.
The private lessons will be tailored toward the individual's needs. There will be a survey before the first session to get a better idea of the strengths and weaknesses of the player so we can address these needs right off the bat (haha).
Program open to boys and girls in rising Grades 1-8. Athletes do not need to be enrolled at Hackley to sign up for these clinics.
Equipment: Glove, helmet, cleats, bat, baseball cap, water bottle
