Adirondack Adventure I (overnights)

Do you want to climb one of the highest mountains in New York? Would you like to go white water rafting down the Hudson River and canoeing on 13th Lake? During this adventure we will do all of that and spend four nights camping under the stars and roasting s’mores around a warm campfire. If that sounds like fun, then this is the trip for you! This summer, we will again partner with Adirondack River Outfitters. They will provide guides and equipment for white water rafting and canoeing. We will also camp at their campsite for two nights. During this trip the students will learn about the beautiful Adirondack environment, local wildlife, hiking and camping basics, including map and compass skills, outdoor safety and the Leave No Trace Principles. The instructors have been offering this trip at Hackley for more than ten years now and we have fine-tuned the itinerary to maximize the FUN! No prior outdoor experience is necessary other than a good attitude and a willingness to be physically active for the whole 5 days. This adventure is physically challenging, but very doable for kids who like adventures.
